miniPod selling like hotcakes

"'I've never seen a product line sell like this,' says Jack Wahrman, senior merchandising manager at New York's J&R Music World. 'The iPod is a phenomenon.'"

USA Today: "New, smaller, flashier iPod sells out fast"

I personally am not surprised - the style and size factors outweigh technical specification considerations for many consumers. Geeks complain that it doesn't record, it can't do x, y, or z - did the Sony Walkman ever really do more than play cassette tapes?
