My e-mailed response to Jonathan Tasini’s “A Home Run” is as follows:

“Alex Rodriguez is in the position of extremely well-paid superstar on a crappy team because of his own greed and value of personal glory over team success. He left the very competitive Mariners because he didn’t like Safeco Field (a hard park to hit homers in) and signed a ridiculously large contract that left no money in the Ranger payroll coffers for good pitching. I don’t admire a multi-millionaire who was too short-sighted to see that his personal gains would be at the expense of his team.”

He has no one to blame but himself.
