  1. Geocoding images with GPS data is the way to go. Microsoft’s Research is doing some interesting stuff with it on their "http://wwmx.org">World Wide Media Exchange project.

  4. Imagine the interest Bing or Yahoo could generate if they would do EXIF…

  5. Historical photos would greatly benefit by maintaining image information with the photo in a searchable and index-friendly format rather than maintaining data in a proprietary database which eventually becomes separated. Same goes for MP3 metadata.

  6. Would also be handy when searching for sample images from a particular make/model of camera a la Flickr’s ‘Camera Finder’.
