Multi-session CD Display

For multi-session CDs, it might be nice if it was indicated that what appear as separate discs are just different “parts” of the same CD.

  1. The numerical badging would be one possibility for optical media containing multiple data sessions. The image shows an enhanced CD only because I did not have a multi-session data CD. Different colors could be used if multiple discs were mounted.
  2. For enhanced CDs, the two different sessions could be badged with icons conveying some idea as to their contents (the badge icons are from GNOME‘s emblems).

For any guitarists out there, Derek Trucks is a great player and the Soul Serenade album is highly recommended.

  1. How would 99% of users mount those CDs at the same time?

  2. Ninety-nine percent of users wouldn’t because like me, they only have one optical drive. I created a composite image just to illustrate the two different ideas next to one another.
