I really like Buzz Andersen & Company’s Cocoalicious, but I miss the Inbox feature when I’m using it.

Mockup of Cocolicious with inbox support

Implementation Notes:

  1. When viewing the combined inbox, a “Source” or “User” column would appear in the top right pane to communicate from which inbox a particular link came.
  2. Tags would be lumped together (case-insensitively, so “Browsers” and “browsers” would merge) when viewing the combined inbox.
  3. It might be best to change the window title to whichever collection was active.
  4. The del.icio.us/ portion would be removed from the sub-inboxes’ titles for easier scanning.

  1. Some good ideas, and I agree that Inbox support feels missing from Cocoalicious. Unfortunately, Joshua has removed Inbox support from the API, and I’m not wild about the idea of implementing that through RSS or (cringe) screen scraping. We’ll have to see what Joshua’s plans for the Inbox are…

  2. I certainly understand not wanting to develop featuritis or spend time adding something as complicated as I imagine RSS could be.

The note on the Inbox page says “I’ve shut off the Inbox pending database migration and rewrite. It’ll be back soon.”, so there may well be hope that such support will return to the API.
