For example, if you select a sentence “Smilin’ Ed is dead,” and invoke the “Font” item from the “Format” menu, the dialog’s caption bar should say “Format font for ‘Smilin’ Ed is dead.’” If you’ve selected text that’s too big to fit on the caption bar, it should show the first and last couple words of the selection separated by ellipses. If nothing is selected, the caption should say “Format font for future text.”

If the text selection were non-continguous, the title would read simply “Font Style for Selected Text”

You may notice that unlike the actual Font window, the text color swatches in my mockups show the selected color. I commented on the Font panel a while back, pointing out this and a few other problems.

Dynamic color titles would also apply to borders, shadows, etc.
